Rabea Willers is assistant project manager at the Council of Europe, Directorate of Democratic Governance, where she supports the organisation of the Council of Europe’s World Forum for Democracy as regards the Forum’s content, programme and speakers. The World Forum for Democracy is an annual gathering of leaders, civil society activists, and representatives of business, academia, and media to debate key challenges for democracies worldwide. Rabea is particularly interested in democratic innovations, deliberative democracy, and social movements.
Prior to her work at the Council of Europe, she was research assistant at Participedia.net, an online platform for crowd-sourced data on democratic innovations, coordinated by Harvard University and University of British Colombia, as well as commissioning editor at E-International Relations, a leading website for scholars of International Relations. She has also worked at the Institute for Intercultural and International Studies at the University of Bremen, Germany. Rabea holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from Jacobs University and University of Bremen in Germany.
