My favorite place: Strasbourg, France
My favorite song: “The man who sold the world” by Nirvana
My favorite book: I have many, I particularly like: “L’Etranger” by Albert Camus.
Three things I dislike: ingratitude and lies; injustice and unfairness
My greatest adventure: Discovering of who I really am, and working every single day for becoming myself !
I think Europe’s biggest challenge is… to integrate its citizens in its decision-making processes. Next to it, more political integration is needed, on basis of the values of: human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human rights.
My changemaker idol: I am very attracted by people who have a powerful personal story to tell. I admire a lot: Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. But also Ghandi, Mandela and Mother Teresa – for how they have turned their words into action, and how they brought a consistent change in the world.
My message to the EYA community:
“If you ever feel hopeless, know that you can change that. Get up every day and remember to do something. Do not wait for the good things to happen to you, but work slowly for making some good things happen. This is how you load yourself with hope”
