Johanna is university assistant, software engineer, and researcher at Graz University of Technology. She graduated from TU Graz and finished her Master’s Thesis during a research visit at Massachusetts Institute of Technology integrating physics simulations into collaborative virtual worlds.
She believes in games and virtual realities as tools to support learning, collaboration and solve real problems. She has long-lasting experience in design and development of games and virtual realities and has already worked in the international video game industry. Her research interests include immersive environments, game research, gamification strategies, human computer interaction, e-learning, computer science education, and information retrieval. She has authored and presented numerous publications in her field.
She teaches game design and development at TU Graz and has consulted and developed different development workshops. She is an active member of the local developer community and organizes different events and workshops this field.
