Jörg Simon is a Senior Developer & Researcher int the Ubiquitous Personal Computing Team at the Know-Center, Austria’s Competence Center on Big Data and Data Driven Business. He is a mobile developer for iOS and Android from the first hour (in fact he just won a WWDC scholarship when the iPhone was introduced 2007) and was lead technician on several projects like the mobile tools for MindMeister and Mendeley. His research interests include machine learning from mobile (sensor) data about people at work, energy efficient real time collaboration algorithms for mobile phones, and HCI in ubiquitous settings.
Beside that Jörg Simon was member of the board of IAESTE Austria, organised a carrier fair with about 100 companies for the TU Graz (the Teconomy). He worked on particle method optimisations at the University of Tokyo. Jörg Simon co-organised the cocoaheads Graz meeting for a while, co-started the BarCamp Graz, and invented the iCamp, now AppDevCamp in Graz. This is one of the main local meetings in Austria for mobile app development, which just had his 5th anniversary.
