Dušica Birovljević, Master of Law, is an expert for local government and social innovation. She published over fifty books as co-author and six solo. These are Comments of Law with examples and explanations from practice in the areas of urban law, human rights, labour law and environmental law. In 2012 she received the “Sakura scholarship” as researcher for the best research paper on the subject of Japan, dealing with waste management and innovative solutions for landfills.
Her first work experience she gathered as entrepreneur, when she founded an independent legal agency with main focus on labour matters after high school. Since April 2013 she is head of Nomcentar, her own NGO, and engaged with projects for youth aimed to make education accessible to all, regardless of financial capabilities.
Her most important projects are „Innovation…that’s it“ which gives youth the opportunity to publish their research papers and „My Handmade book“ which helps youth to publish their first book and mix writing and IT skills. Moreover she runs the project „Why plagiarism when it can be original“ in which she conducts educational workshops for paper writing with focus on copyrights.
Dušica was also editor and host of a TV show which aimed to find innovative solutions in the fields of urbanism and real estate. She is also a part-time consultant for public procurements and urban law at a law office in Belgrade.
